Forely Golf was looking to create a golf equipment and apperal brand to enter into the market. They wanted to create a brand that would appeal to the everyday golfer and make them feel included in an industry that isn't always the most welcoming to outsiders.
Goals and Objectives
The first goal was to create a brand that was inclusive and fun, while also maintaining a level of quality that you would see in the golf industry. The brand needed to be able to adapt to the different mediums it would be applied to in order to create a consistent look and feel to its potential customers. Since there was no brick and mortar store or partnerships with big box stores, the online presence needed to carry the brand in order to generate sales, so a sleek easy to use site was paramount.
Logo Design
The logo couldn't just be one logo, it needed to be a suite of logos that could be applied to different mediums to serve different purposes. The decision was made to create a full logomark, an icon, and a badge style logo that would utilized throughout the brand. The use of the flag was important as it would be the visual element that would be recognizable throughout. It was also important the logo can be visible when scaled down to small applications such as a golf ball.
Web Design
With the logo and brand in place the site had to make the shopping experience as easy as possible since it would be the main driver of revenue for the brand. Based on industry research we knew that a majority of the users would be visiting the site on a mobile device since they would be coming from social media ads. With that in mind the design started with mobile and making sure the product page made it as easy as possible for the user to checkout. Having all the user decisions above the fold was something that was important to accomplish with a new brand like this in order to have that checkout process as simple as it can.
